Cartooning 1

Cartooning 1 is a course based on the cartooning fundamentals of character design, composition and perspective. Emphasis is placed on the breakdown method of drawing in character creation and rendition using a series of cartoon drawing exercises and projects in black and white and colour. Environmental design and perspective technique will be covered along with basic composition. We then complete the course by placing our characters in a single panel cartoon composition.

The method of course delivery is by instructor demonstrations, lectures and class discussion. Students are responsible for three projects and weekly participation in exercises which contribute to the course evaluation. Working from reference and life in a sketchbook is recommended.
